The Urban League Employment Services Department prepares job seekers for the real world of work by offering comprehensive job readiness training, computer training (Microsoft Applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access, Outlook & Internet), supportive services, job leads and referrals, post employment follow up services with employed clients and employers, bi-annual community job fairs and monthly employer recruitment events. Job readiness workshops are held every Wednesday which address: job search techniques, labor market information, occupational trends and projections, resumes/cover letters, and video taped mock interviews, which are typically conducted by Human Resource personnel.
Workforce Development Specialist provides job seekers with career assessments, career consultation, job leads/referrals and job placement assistance.
Our Resource Room provides job seekers with internet accessible computers (online job search), fax, copier and employment related resources which accommodates the job search.
