We would like to extend our thanks to the Texas Instruments Black Employees Initiative for an exceptional workshop in Saturday 11/06/08.
Our participants were intrigued, encouraged and challenged. The entire event was filled with many opportunities to challenge the mind. We had:
Contests and prizes
Math and Science presentation by a renowned professor from UTD who blew our minds about the expanse of science and challenged us to be CURIOUS
Hands on forensic science crime scene lab experiments
College panel sit and answer questions about college, challenges and the transition into corporate (current students, interns, recruiters and professionals)
Lunch!
Exhibits / presentations in technology (Segway, Wii, and state-of-the-art diagnostic tools)
We had a great discussion in the bus (donated by TI… many thanks) on our way back and yes, the EDGE Fellows GOT IT! They were stimulated by what was conveyed and we will see the results of the impact that this experience has given them.
Additional thanks to:
Our great volunteers from Citigroup and Urban League Young Professionals. They are the backbone of our program.
University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) student volunteers
We are proud of the EDGE/100 Fellows participants for exhibiting professional behavior and consistently choosing to expand their potential! This group is going places.
