The EDGE/100 Fellows professional development and financial literacy workshop at Citigroup was absolutely a treasured experience. The EDGE students learned so much about interviewing techniques and how to manage their own money. They had a chance to walk around corporate america, and even did a little mock interviewing to see if they were up to the challenge.

Johnny Deas (Citi employee and 2006-2007 Volunteer of the Year) prepared a wonderful handout on the STAR method for interviewing. His presentation was practical and informative. Students were actively engaged in learning and had a chance to put their skills into practice in small group interviews.

Following the interviewing and professionalism workshop, students were taken on a tour to see how this Citi customer service center handled credit card accounts for major companies like Home Depot and Zales.

Citi volunteers engaged the students in a very candid panel discussion about making decisions through college and into the workplace. The employees shared their personal stories and challenged the students to work hard toward their goals.

A lot of planning and coordination went into this event. Special thanks to Kevin Allen, event coordinator from Citigroup, Johnny Deas, interviewing/professionalism workshop, many Citi employees, and the Urban League Young Professionals.
