		EDGE/100 Fellows Community Service Event On April 25, our students participated in a weed and seed, community beautification effort with the West Dallas Weed and Seed organization. The purpose of this event was to challenge and impress upon the EDGE/100 Fellows participants the importance of giving back to the community and all of the benefits that come with doing so (personal and societal). read more

		Parent's Edge Financial Aid Workshops Parents Edge teamed up with representatives from DCCCD to hold our Financial Aid Workshop at Samuell and Thomas Jefferson High Schools. Parents were encouraged to bring all relevant tax information. They learned about various components of financial aid such as scholarships, grants and the work-study program. After the information session, parents and their students jumped on the computers and filled out their FAFSA information. read more

		Get On The Bus College The annual Get on the Bus College Tour was a great experience for our EDGE high school juniors and seniors. This year's stop was Texas A&M University in College Station, and Baylor University in Waco. Students toured the University campuses, mingled with college students in the university cafeteria, and were able to get a full helping of college life. For some students, this was their first visit to a college campus. For others, it reinforced their goal to finish high school strong and work hard to attend the college of their choice. read more

		S.H.A.P.E. Health Event @ Lifetime Fitness Tour Our volunteers were here bright and early in the parking lot of the Dallas Urban League greeting the students, talking to parents and collecting permission slips. The EDGE/100 Fellows SHAPE Workshop was a wonderful success. The morning started with a tour of Life Time Fitness then we all sat down for an informative talk on how good health and fitness impacts your personal success. read more

		EDGE/100 Fellows @ Citigroup in Las Colinas The EDGE/100 Fellows professional development and financial literacy workshop at Citigroup was absolutely a treasured experience. The EDGE students learned so much about interviewing techniques and how to manage their own money. They had a chance to walk around corporate america to see what it is like, and even did a little mock interviewing to see if they were up to the challenge. read more
