 Seniors Services:
Ironically, this segment of our population represents the greatest authority,
wisdom and work experience. Yet it's also the most neglected. The seniors department
provides work force ready training and placement, counseling, computer/internet
training, emergency outreach and other support services for older workers whose
income is at or below the poverty level. Participants can also obtain their GED
through the Urban League's education department. The Grandparent Resource Group
provides additional support for grandparents raising their grandchildren.
We recognize that older citizens
are faced with a myriad of challenges including, but not limited to, a need to
supplement their income and for many the responsibility of raising their grandchildren.
Our seniors/grandparents program provides the support and resources necessary
for our senior caregivers and those raising their grandchildren. |
